Can't forget Live/Dead, one of the greatest Dark Stars they ever played in my opinion.
Honestly though, it's hard to talk in terms of albums with the Dead, it's all great, but the live stuff is key, just about any live show will take your trip to some cool places. Anthem was a good album because it was essentially a "collage" of the band. It has segments of live shows edited into each other as well as songs made in the studio and overdubs etc.
Come on though, Europe 72

This. All of this. That Dark Star was the one that fully converted me. Heard it accidentally one day while frying and never looked back.

Rest in peace Lou Reed. He was amazing.
Wow Lou Reed died. Thanks for your post man. Even though it's only been a few days missed that one. Venus n furs time. Sorry to get off topic...
Not a huge dead fan but i like the idea of a band having a following like they do. Like psychedelic juggalos but in the best pissible way when comparing anyone to a juggalo
Lou Reed...

Every single one is good, great actually.
If I had to pick just one, it would have to be a live one, the Dead are best live. Considering which albums are under their "Discography" it would be between Europe '72 and Dead Set, imo. But what do I know
