I've heard some mushrooms will grow in the same spot every year. Is this true of cyascens? If so, is there a special way i should harvest them so that they will come back? Is it possible that i could get multiple more harvests out of this same spot this year?

They will grow in that spot each year until they run out of fresh enough woody debris. This is usually quite a small handful of years.
You could lay fresh chipped wood on that location from time to time to continue feeding this, if you don't mind that that might be considered manufacture.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

It depends on how much the conditions suit them, and if the substrate is viable for years to come. I'm guessing chances are high for them returning and flushing. As for promoting growth... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13425527/fpart/1/vc/1

Thanx for clearing that up yall! I was unaware of the exact reasonings. I remember reading Amanita pins are stronger then mature adults, Gymnopilus pins as well as cincts. So i figured the best time to pick in hopes to consume would be right after the caps expose the gills. Mainly so the species can sporeulate. Other then that if people are after a buzz and not to fill their stomach. Wouldnt it be better to pick the pins in these species? I had not read about the cyans. Great info though I really appreciate it!

a three gram cube trip can be achieved with 2.4 grams of cyans
This seems wrong to me. From what I have read from some maybe more reliable and recent writings than Paul Stamets, cyans are double the potency of average street cubensis.

This is the main thing I have read to back that claim up. Erowid sucks in terms of its data on mushroom hunting; different species and such. They say Gymnopilus lutofolius is not active (http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_article9.shtml). The dosage calculator on this website is also in agreement with what I am saying. 0.8-2 grams is plenty of properly dried cyans for most people.
