    #19059655 - 10/30/13 07:55 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

found these mushrooms at the back of a cow field in bedding for cows wood chips huge pile. the have a slight veil around the stem that makes a blue ring and will bruise blue on the cap slightly and usually at the bottom. purple spore print ( purple staining on lower mushrooms in the group and on the paper towel) didn't take an actual spore print. found in fraser valley. thin mucus membrain when peeled.there was alot in one general area seemed to love the blackberrie bushes. i think they are cyanescens but unsure.

Those are cyans if I ever seen em. Way to go! Wait for a TI to confirm though.

Sad patch destruction. But yes you did find a psilocybe.

Make sure they all bruise blue and have purple prints.

Sad, sad patch destruction.....

I don't think they're Cyans though...Cyans don't have that ring around the stipe.  I am also not a TI but I would lean more towards P. stunzii too

Good point! I don't know why I didn't think about the annulus. Cyans don't have that. TI= Trusted Identifier

Those certainly are not cyanescens, but they sure seem to be a bluing psilocybe.

Are you in the pacific states? P. stuntzii seems likely unless you're in the midwest.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

:rockon:DUUUUUUUUDE!  Unless they're P. stuntzii, I'd vouch for P. fimetaria!  Get those to a doctor!

If you look at the person who has replied/quoted at the bottom of the box a select few will have Trusted Identifier under this thread.

Yes, it is. I don't think that one's a Psilocybe at all, and all specimens should be inspected.
