Don't you think it's interesting the way people interact with each other sometimes? 1

So I was at a bonfire and all these chix n a few doods were just rambling on and on about some drama for a while and I was sittin there listening and really couldn't help but to find it so interesting how differently they would talk about people they like vs. the ones they didn't like. Being there also kinda reminded me how i'm not always much of a people person
But anyways,
This is the perception of people they don't like: Everything they do wrong is an issue worth talking about, their physical faults in how they look is meant to be insulted, every positive attribute that they have is to be minimized as much as possible
Perception of people they do like: Polar opposite. Everything positive about them is to be expanded on, everything negative about them is to be minimized.
It's funny, like they only live in a selective fraction of reality. They're only willing to admit so much to themselves as a collective whole. It all has to do with the concepts of "self" and "other" n thangs
These arent like 15 year olds either, these are like 20 year olds. Young adults. (Not that I'm suggesting these are all high quality people worth seeing a lot of in the future though lol)
I dunno where I'm goin with this, what's ya'lls input on the generalized nueroticism of the human mind? Don't you think we're all just so interesting and funny?

A lot of people have that mindset that they are soo seperate from everyone and this behavior is okay, but they fail to realize our minds are all connected and blah blah blah

Getting philosophical I see. We all see a fraction of reality. Honestly, I get tired of seeing people interact. Usually, its extremely predictable. Its hard to hold an intelligent and meaningful conversation with anyone in real life these days. I'm surround by college douchebags that have the maturity of 10 year olds

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm "getting" philosophical, i'm generally a pretty deep thinker.

This is called confirmation bias, bruv. People tend to favor things that support beliefs they already hold.

I think I big portion of this is people's insecurities.
Have you ever witnessed an overweight person pay out someone who is even more overweight, perhaps only by the tiniest bit? Or someone who used to be overweight or is insecure about they body/anorexic?
I see this all the time, whereas I rarely at all see people who are completely comfortable with their body criticise other's bodies.
I couldn't think of a better example right now but I still stand by it being largely based on people's insecurities.

I agree, but it's not always a blessing. Sometimes it gets downright painful. I wouldn't trade it for anything though, but it seems that every single day brings increasing social disapointement my way.

This doesn't change. It's a type of person. 15. 20. 27 (my age), whatever. I'm sure there may reach a point where it sets in for most people, but certain folks are always going to have that mindset, so long as they have that same tight core of close friends who self-reinforce

I think its normal. HOPEFULLY the conversation evolves with age though. If it's not people it's TV, politics, music, cars, phones etc. normal human interaction stuff.
I love people watching though. I'm like the biker in rumble fish when I go to the movies. I love watching people watch movies.

True that. It seems there's a lot of old folks being bitchy and judgemental without even realizing it.

I've found that on some LSD trips with close friends the drug almost tears a filter off reality and we can all see the silly ways we interact. Like we'll all see the look on someone's face when they want another person's cigarette or chocolate.
Somehow the weird sub-dialogue in our conversations, discrete body language and our subconscious interpretations and actions according to these things seems to hold the group together.
Like with my chocolate or cigarette example, the other person will get some of what they want. We all eat chocolate. All is dandy.
