Strangely redundant UK field guide by Geoffrey Kibby

At the moment I'm vacationing in East Sussex, and today I came across the following mushroom field guide in a local supermarket, at a bargain for only £ 4.99, entitled "Hamlyn Guide - Mushrooms and toadstools of Britain and Northern Europe".
Packed with beautiful illustrations, describing over 400 species, this 2013 edition has some features which I find quite strange for an apparently updated publication.
After a brief skimming I found that it, among other things, states Pluteus salicinus as an edible species, although not recommended - without mention of its psychoactive properties.
Cortinarius rubellus, which is not described as a species, is only mentioned in the chapter generally introducing toxic mushrooms - as C. speciosissimus.
Also Galerina marginata, while being mentioned in the same chapter, is not described or depicted in any form. Only Galerina species presented is G. sphagnorum. One should expect the common deadly species to be described in every serious field guide.
Panaeolus papilionaceus, here called P. sphinctrinus, is labeled poisonous - as it is described as "sometimes hallucinatory".
All coprinoid species in mention are also named as Coprinus species.
I'm just curious if anyone else on here are familiar with this book, and if there is any rational explanation on why and how such a recent publication features such outdated nomenclature. Even if the names stated aren't outright wrong per sé, it would surely be confusing for beginners to base their initial research on a book like this.
I'm kind of suspecting the publishing company, Octopus Books, to be chasing some few extra bucks by trying to repackage and sell old volumes filling up some storage spaces.
I'm not really familiar with Geoffrey Kibby but through google it is apparent that he's still in business after 40-something years as an active mycologist. Would he approve of this book?

He is good, and you are probably right that he is not in on the reprint. I recently ordered 5 of his books and the bookseller says those are self-published (they are waiting for him to mail them out; I said in that case would he mind signing them).

After an ISBN search the "new edition" is listed as being released October 2013.
A search on Amazon, however, shows only the first hardback edition from 1977.
So yeah, it suggests the good Mr. Kibby didn't authorize this.
Perhaps he should be notified.
