Was gonna mention john dies at the end but wasn't sure if that qualified as a drug movie. Eh it's an awesome movie anyway and should be mentioned in every movie thread IMO

See, I thought this was a really visually stunning film and worth a watch for that in and of itself, I think the concept was interesting and it was suffice to say, disturbing but it really didn't do much more for me other than 'OMG PRETTY'. That being said, I think it's a great work of art for the visuals alone.
The Salton Sea is a pretty good one about tweakers, mainly.

I watched I <3 Huckabees while just really high and it was a really enjoyable experience, definitely got it way more than I did when I watched it again sober, but it's a good film to check out regardless - not really drug themed but it's all about existential bullshit.
Also Being John Malovich is kind of in the same boat, watch it on shrooms or acid, omg.

Yeah, a lot of the repetition and some of the weirder shots are kind of remniscent of my playwrighting/directing class where people would stage shit weirdly and repetitively just to be edgy.
Not to mention it's a total downer too.

Ditto. Seems pretty interesting. I'm a total documentary fiend, but for some reason drug documentaries don't usually grab my attention.
That being said what was that one about DMT? I think it's just called The Spirit Molecule? Someone here has had to watch that one, I personally have yet to.

The Spirit Molecule is more interesting if you've never tried DMT, or never read the book.
As far as films go, I'll have to nominate the original Fantasia (the dancing amanita muscarias qualify it in this thread).

I've yet to try DMT, mainly out of laziness - Currently I'm off psychedelics until New Years or later, it's obviously of great interest to me and I'll probably start asking around soon anyways, maybe I'll save it for watching that night anyways.

I just start wanting to trip super badly and get nostalgic for former trips.

Funny you say that, cuz I was sober when I watched it . I tried to watch it with friends a few hours prior to tripping, and we didn't even make it through the super long opening scene before turning it off and being like 'yeah, we should be tripping for this.'
Then we got distracted. So I watched it by myself sober another time. I will give it a go next time I'm looking for movies on psyches, maybe!

Hell no. That movie was a joke. The director's never done a psychedelic drug.* And Johnny Depp acted like a ridiculous caricature of Hunter Thompson. Also, they only made a concerted effort to make it look psychedelic at the beginning of the movie.

Have you seen the movie? What the fuck are you talking about the only psychedelic part was at the beginning. Have you watched the movie with a head full of acid? I couldn't even make it through it until I did, so I can understand if that's the case.
Johnny Depp was awesome in it too.... but whatever you're probably a lot more cultured and intelligent than me, I'm just a simple mind with simple pleasures

Films by Simon G. Powell are interesting: Metanoia
and
Manna
-------------------- Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order: 1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine 2)Amanita (urine drank twice) 3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose) 4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators) 5)Salvia (need to try quid)
All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental. Blessing.

John Dies at the End
...In addition, of course, to the obvious choice: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which I almost don't even want to mention because it was such a great book and people tend to associate Hunter S. Thompson, a brilliant, real-life writer, with Johnny Depp.
But it is a great movie.

If you haven't seen that movie, you should not be reccomending it. That show is fucked up and not in a good way.
