So, the past few days my car has been making funny noises.
The noise happens as im driving down the road. It will stop when im on the brakes. It will sometimes stop as im turning my wheel.
The sounds is like...."WEEEEWEEEEEWEEEEWEEEE"
Anybody have any idea what the problem might be?

Powersteering fluid is low, or your brake pads are starting to go....Bring your car in and ask them to look at it.
Check your fluid levels first though, don't need them to do that for you.

At what speed does it start making this sound.. Is it a metal to metal sound? Grinding? If the car is stationary does the noise increase when the engine speed rises?

There is no sound when the car is stationary. I hear the sound when im going under 40mph. Anything more speed and the sound goes away.

If it was a wheel bearing it would continue to make a sound from start till top speed... I think it might be the brake pads aswell... If you can see through your wheel to the brake disc. Is the sound coming from the front or rear? Look closly to see if there is a slight sctatched ring on it... How long ago did you replace the brake pads. And what is the milage on the car... And... What car is it?

When I speed up really fast in my car something underneath it catches onto something else. It sort of sounds like a moped.
Sometimes it stays the way it is for a few days, other times it stops when I stop my car. It's been doing this for a few years now

Ill check out the disk in a few. The sound is coming from the front of the car. Ive never replaced the brake pads and ive had my car for 3 years. 78,000 miles. PT Cruiser.

That moped sound you get from aclerating might be caused by the heat sheild of the exhaust underneath the car touching the exhaust when the engine is under a lot of torque. Its a thin piece of alimnuim that keeps heat uot of the cabin... Sorry if my spelling sucks... I'm actualy Afrikaans...

The. Powersteering pump only works when you turn. So it will only really make a sound when you turn. The noise on a pully would increase till it hits its resonating freq then it would be quite... But it maight keep getting worse depending on how bad that pullys bearing is...

How loud is it? Barely noticeable or distinct? Wheel bearings would make sense. Jack up your car a corner at a time and see if you have any side to side play in the wheels.

If you want to check. The bearing. Jack the car up. Take 1 wheel. Pull it left to rigt after that press the weel ontop and the bottem repeatedly to check for play. If only left to right paly... Can be tie rod or rack end... Only a 360 degree play is def a wheel bearing...
