Growing Libs?

Since people are stating that growing psilocybins from spore is very difficult, do you think it would be possible to dig up a patch of earth containing the mycelium and transplanting it into a pot? Or do you think the fungus would require more space to produce the fruiting bodies?

Read it on here actually http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/10271222
Well, least a spore print is easier than carrying a heavy bag of dirt 3 miles home lol
Would be tempted to grow them on the bit of grass outside my house but sure the council would have a field day chopping them up with their grass cutters. Which is why I'm wondering if a large plant pot will do? x

who says growing psilocybin from spores is difficult?
as far as the liberty caps go, im not sure about cultivating them..they are pretty rare to find where i live to start with. from what i have understand they are a difficult grow..if you want to grow them it would probably be best to take a tissue sample from a fruit and grow it out on agar.
you're better off trying to cultivate cubensis

From what I've read Libs have a very symbiotic relationship with nature and are very difficult to replicate indoors. It has been done but by VERY experienced cultivators.
Please don't go digging up patches and ruining them.
If psylocibin is what you are after try cubes, or start an outdoor woodlover patch

Agar?? Hmmm...might be a fun use for my microscope. Spend my spring and summer growing plants and cacti, need something I can grow through winter and mushroom growing sounds like a fun enterprise. At what point would I have to move the mycelium to where it can produce fruiting bodies? The reason I thought about liberty caps is because they're quite easy to find where I live. I've never bought any spores on line so would be rather cautious I would be willing to set up an outdoor growing patch but for what I know about libs, they feed off rotting grass roots. Can I substitute that with anything or will my compost heap do?

For libs I went from brf and water(agar sub) to grain and spawned to grass clippings/verm/manure and a thin casing layer and tons of fae. Only got one tray to produce but I'm making another run right now

I suggest that if you do get a good ps. semilanceata culture going, to spawn them outdoors to shady hidden grassy area with dead decomposing grass underneath and water if it gets real dry, do em outdoors.
