Ropeworm (don't read if tripping)
    #19056056 - 10/30/13 03:30 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Apparently there is a new parasite or species that is being called ropeworm that a lot of people are finding in themselves in the past few years.

It's pretty nasty so might not want to see this on psychedelics - http://arxiv.org/pdf/1301.2845.pdf

I'm sure some here will be skeptical of it but if you google 'ropeworm' there are a lot of people talking about it and people who get them out post pictures of it too.

The few doctors that actually look into this aren't sure if it's a parasite or something people's bodies make with all the chemicals and bacteria we ingest, etc... but apparently there is no proof as of now that it is actually a parasite but it does sound pretty strange.

Reportedly enemas and lemon water are the way to get them out.

What do you make of this Shroomery?

Wow...that's pretty fucked up.

I wonder what the hell kind of organism that thing would be classified as, if it is an organism. And I wonder what exactly they mean by "toxic slime". I assume since they're referring to it as toxic that it must have been analyzed but they don't say anything about the constituents...

Oh shit, some of that white rope stuff came out of me when I used to use an enema while I was on opes. I thought it was really heavy mucus.

Just curious though, why are guys with PhD's in engineering and the department of engineering doing a paper on the human intestine?

Am I confusing this with some other parasite

I'm pretty sure I've heard of this worm before(then again it might be the tapeworm)

Might be the hookworm.

Maybe cause a lot of doctors are ignoring it.  A lot of  U.S. doctors really don't have in depth knowledge on parasites - there are some paraistiologists in California I think and one in New York but not that many overall here - I've heard Brazil and London have some of the best parasite clinics.

People on health forums have seen these things using methods that papers like this one say about getting rid of them.

Tapeworm is another type of worm.  Tapeworms can be freaky though, they can travel to any part of the body and some can grow to be pretty big.

Aren't hookworms small tho?    I think ropeworms are said to be bigger.

Not sure if the answer is known to this yet but they can cause a lot of symptoms like headaches, fatigue, digestive issues, etc...  Also apparently they can feed off people's blood.

I'm not sure but apparently people are coming up with these things along with other parasites.

Well, the engineering thing is pretty suspicious, but I found evidence on Cornell's library that it is likely not a troll paper: http://arxiv-web3.library.cornell.edu/abs/1301.0953v1

Still, what makes these people say they are parasites? If they are living parasites, wouldn't they move and squirm around once expelled?

By the way, the stuff in the article posted looks really similar to the stuff that people excrete when they do 3+ day juice cleanses. When you detox by drinking nothing but fruit juice for a minimum of three days. This is the type of stuff that comes out.

There's a chemical that turns the liquid "detox cleanse" into a solid as it passes through your GI tract, so those wouldn't be ropeworms.
They just look similar because they're both coming from intestines and are covered in shit.

Imagine finding one of these things before anything was known about them and realizing it's an actual organism.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Maybe air the process of leving the body kills them.  I'm not sure if they're for sure parasites but maybe that's what they resemble most compared to other orginisms.    Also it may differ between species but I know some parasites like flukes get killed by the immune system (with the help of drugs possibly) before leaving the body so they wont move or anything after being expelled.

Also one of the ways one of the people studying ropeworm said to kill them was by water fasting for around two weeks.
