Both are outdated, but Psilocybin mushrooms of the world is much much better

Most books I've seen only offer 1 photo of each species.  In the realm of psychedelics, it would be nice to see multiple pics for each species (young, mature, dry, bruised).  Maybe at the end of the book, have a few pages containing lookalikes to avoid.

Approaching things like David Arora would be cool.  He made mushroom books FUN!

Or idealy one photo that showed all of those things.

Good point regarding David's writing, he can make even the most boring mushrooms fun to read about.

Phylogenetic trees would be a good edition to a Psilocybe book, and also a critical revision of the type collections of the rare species.

I'll just throw this out there in case in case it fruits in someone's brain...

Anyway, if a book was designed and used photos from us members (maybe even including a nice gallery in the back), I imagine we could all pool money via Paypal to pay for the creation.  I know I'd be down to pitch in and then purchase a couple copies.

that's what kickstarter is for isn't it?

And on the subject of trees; I think the world has room for a mushroom field guide [though not particularly Psilocybe] with an extensive section on trees [and shrubs].

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
