First time using monotub - am I doing it right? 1

Hi, first off I would like to thank the whole community for creating this plethora of information and guiding me in the right direction. I have had great success with PF cakes and I am now trying a bulk grow in a monotub. I used brown rice and verm in a 1 quart jar as my spawn. I then used oven bags filled with soaked woodchips (from a samba firelog)which I then enriched with organic wheat germ and PC'd. When cool I turned all the hotplates of my stove on and worked within their radius and transferred my spawn into the bags. About two or so weeks later all the bags were fully colonized and I must have left it too long as I thought the bags were still colonizing but they had started to pin:( None the less I broke the mycelium in the bags up, mixed it with more soaked woodchips and wheatgerm and placed this mix into a monotub. After this had colonized I made a casing out of 50/50 verm and peat which I pasteurized and placed about 1inch thick over the top. Now the ropey mycelium has come through this layer and I'm unsure of what to do and if it is time to fruit yet. Should I expose to FAE and begin misting and bring the RH up to 95%? Here are the pic's:

I really can't help as I really am only experience in coir Verm and gypsum. I feel like you took quite a leap with the woodchips and all that when diving into bulk but to each Thier own. Curious as to what kind of feedback you get so,

I'm aware of that, I had no money left and well I had the logs lying around and they hold moisture really really well so I decided to use them as a substitute to verm as I did not have much verm left.
P.S. I like your image

Cubensis is not a wood loving species. That's why your mycelium is so ropey lookin. IIt's stretching out looking for food. You might as well toss that and start over.
Check out my start to finish bulk tek in my journal

Alright, I might just keep it and see if I can get anything out of it although I know and have read that cubes aren't wood lovers and they are best grown on dung and straw but as I said this was just because I had a quart jar of spawn leftover from making PF cakes. It was interesting although that in the spawn bags they were pinning like crazy and I still used the same mix in this monotub... I'll have to try a proper Tek like yours sometime though and actually go out and buy the stuff for it.
So all in all, now that the mycelium come up through the casing layer should I just start misting and bringing the humidity up? How many times a day would you mist a monotub?

A proper monotub for cubes is set and forget at least for the first flush.

Yeah you might get something since you added some nutes. Interesting to see how the accident/experiment works out.

Don't throw it out. Start a new project for sure, but this is the second time in as many days I've seen someone say they should just throw away a project. You put time into this. Don't put all your bets on it but you shouldn't just throw away your work.
Go ahead and introduce fruiting conditions and see what happens. You may get some fruits yet.

Alright, I actually want a piece of this betting action. There are some claims that P cube in certain situation have been known to break down wood. I am not making these claims, I am just passing the information on that I read. Apparently Lizard King found a family or breed of P. Cubensis that loves wood down in Mexico. It would be interesting to test them out and see if they will eat wood.

Yep, I have seen some crazy shit in my day. Had a tub I forgot about in back of closet years ago, fruited rotted and fruited again. It sat back there for 3 months until I had to move. It was a little mini mono, and I had stored it away, smoked a lot of weed and did some other things and totally forgot it was there.
I have to say, that these things are amazing, and will fruit in almost every horrible environment. Maybe it is a defense mechanism against poor natural settings.
Good Luck OP.

I've fruited off woodchips plenty of times with cubes, more of a moisture resevoir then anything, much like the rez effect. Gl
