Chaga Everywhere

Went on a little hike today with some friends. Went off the state trail a little ways and found a whole lot of birch, an a whole lot of chaga! Mostly found it on silver (i think) birch. Some on black birch,

The third picture is actually the first piece we found, pointed out by my gnome friend in this giant freaking tree:

O ok i will study up on them. The other day I saw an entire huge tree stump looked full of black charcoal. Thinking that may be chaga. They say its a medical mushroom but the effects arent documented.

Awesome oak tree!
I'll definitely have to look around in that spot for the fruitbodies. There were a few small dead birches with haga in them that were good candidates I'd think. Never have seen the fruits before.

My friend pointed from that maple tree and said "Look that tree is pooping", lol. The ground was covered in the melanin rich outter layer and looked like char coal.

Totally stoned out and forgot to finish my point. I see alot of burls and cankers, possible lightning strikes and diseases that look like chaga, lol. Chip away at the black part and if its rusty brown/ orange-to-yellow on the innermost parts, its usually chaga.

Chaga is great for the immune system. Alcohol extrations pull out anti-inflamatories, and teas bring out the immuno-boosting polysaccharides. Trying to get a picture of the inner most part of the chaga for you.
