I'm kinda psyched about this movie. The book was amazing, the author is very successful. I really hope they figured out a way to make the movie just as good.
Who plans on watching it?

i'll torrent it purposely because orson scott card is like the glenn beck of science fiction. hateful whack job. that being said i liked the first book when i was in my teens. i read the following two or three after but they were nothing like the first. if they stick to the script it'll be good.

I read the book and it's sequeal Speaker for the Dead when I was a kid. As I recall I started the third book and realizing it sucked quit the series. Ender's Game was excellent but I liked the whole philosophical aspect of Speaker much better. It has still impacted the way I view eulogies and funerals. Instead of remembering the deceased they are reinvented and lied about. Its sad what we humans do to the memories of people, postumously.

I just finished the books last week. The story is completely different but its extremely well written. The final book makes you think a lot about humanity. Its more than a story you know, there's some kind of life lesson in it.

You need a little determination to finish the series, I will grant you that. But it ends well.

Gravity was decent, I wouldnt even put it in the same ballpark tbh, just from seeing the preview of enders game and seeing gravity in 3d at the theatre

eh, honestly for me there's vastly better sci-fi out there. i wouldn't call ender's game a high point in my adult reading career by any means.

I saw Gravity in a 100% legit Imax and the effects were incredible. The plot and acting were beyond stupid.

I agree 100%, but the effects and picture was so great that it overpowered the plot and acting which puts in a category above being called stupid imo

I'm not going to argue about the effects and cinematography. They were un fuckin believable. Story and actors sucked. A lot. Do you know what would be really great? If somebody redid a 45 year old sci fi movie with great effects in 3D. Guess what I'm talking about. And when you figure it out just imagine how fucking great that would be.

i never read 2001 but a friend of mine recommended it to me. i've read some other arthur c. clarke stuff though. i've been on more of a trans/post-humanist kick with my sci-fi lately.
