I've done mushies and acid- both in high and low doses. They appeared really profound and life changing at first but I completely forgot the experience shortly after it ended. Sad, I know.
My typical mushroom trip:
Peak: "OMG OMG LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, IT'S SUCH A BLESSING THAT LIFE EXISTS OMG OMG OMG, THESE TREES ARE SO PROFOUND AND LOVELY. I WANNA HUG EVERYONE AND HUG EVERYTHING. WHY DO WE HAVE WAR WE ARE ALL ONE. WE SHOULD ALL GATHER TOGETHER AND JUST HUG HUG HUG AND LOVE LOVE LOVE. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
One day after: "I hate commuting to school so much.... Damn it, why does it have to be so cold outside. Gahhh, I have to wait for my dad to pick me up today. I hate waiting, it's so dull. I'll probably just kill time studying. Gah, university is so much work. God, I can't wait to go home and light up a jay with my girl."
I honestly can't even recall what a mushroom trip feels like anymore tbh, despite having done it over 5 times..... Then again, it's been nearly a year since I've visited that realm.
I may hop back on the psychedelic bandwagon when the weather gets nice and sunny.

If you plan on doing them again, you need three days. One to plan the trip, one to take it, then one to integrate it. The fruits of the psychedelic experience can be so heavy that they often break the branch which supports them.

a lot of people are just waiting to take a shit every day, waiting to get paid, or waiting to get laid. basically, a lot of waiting. but they get anticipatorillly excited
if you can maintain composure and dun really mind what other people are thinking about you, and can pop a fat boner for a chick at will, and maintain a good GPA on THC, go for it.
if you ever want to attempt life without THC, i suggest taking two 200mg caffeine pills to kill the depression (i still have not figured out how to live life without depression without caffeine).
the music thing... honestly, caffeine doesn't do that.
I've literally never been bothered about what people think of me. As I mentioned in my post, I'm completely content with where I am in life, what I have, and what I've accomplished. I also feel like I've had a different view on life compared to other people, even from a very young age, so things that regular folk take REALLY seriously (status, identity, meaning of life, etc) just aren't that important to me.
My friend and I were actually having this conversation recently about whether or not one should worry about what others think of them. In my opinion, it's completely silly to worry- for starters, people will dislike you despite what you do. Some people are dicks, some are filled with prejudice and bias- people are fucked. Secondly, people's thoughts are just thoughts, nothing more. People's thoughts can't do anything to you- they can't harm you, they can't bite you in the ass, they can't make you fail. They're just nerve signals in somebody else's organ, that's it. My friend and I actually dressed up really silly one day and walked around in public to prove to ourselves how little we cared and we were shocked at how little attention people paid to us. To be absolutely honest, most people don't despise you or think badly of you, they just simply don't care that you exist. This applies to most of us. Seriously, how many people can you name that would genuinely be effected if one day you stopped existing?

all you gotta do bro is take so many drugs over the years, that when you're sober it's like an altered state unto itself...

sounds like anhedonia to me, just put down the pipe for awhile and the good feels will return. i went through the same thing you are going through after being put on probation n what not and having my medical license revoked. it takes time, but if you moderate it, youll find enjoyment in life again.

I know how you though, op. I used to feel the same way. But to my misfortune, weed started having an adverse affect on me. I developed severe anxiety and depression which weed made worse. I've been 9 months clean from all drugs, including caffeine, and I feel, well, free! No longer do I have feelings of fear, panic, or depression. Sure it's boring at first because you depended on weed to give you that sense of amusement in everyday activities. You have to retrain your brain to do the same thing without drugs. Find a hobby, read a book about something interesting but also won't make you want to smoke a bowl. I exerted this crave by going to school and studying hard topics, just to keep myself distracted from the blandness of sobriety. After awhile, you start to appreciate the alertness and sharpness of being sober. Of course you don't need to completely quit drugs, but it's nice not to be so dependent on them, because then where is your own self control?

Sober life is NOT more interesting. Sorry, but no.
I have done so many drugs that yes, I do find that sober periods are almost an altered state. It's an altered state of clarity.
Clarity regarding how boring life is, lol.
Yes, life is amazing, it's a wonder that we're even here. Life is deep, complex, simple, and every other adjective you can think of. Nevertheless, using drugs chemically forces you to perceive it in a much more interesting manner.

I completely disagree. Experiencing life on drugs isn't experiencing life at all...it's avoiding it.
