Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Found in northeastern lower peninsula

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Look not attached, cream/whitish color. Dark purple greyish spore print

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

2 inch long, hollow, strong when fresh

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Light brown, tan getting darker towards the center. Spherical.

Spore print color:
Very important!

Looks to be dark purple

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

No apparent bruising. Stems got darker brown over time

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Here are some pics. Might not be the greatest. I can take some more and probably will with better light.

I found these growing on a very old stump in a primarily birch, oak, maple hardwood forest. I don't have any pics of them on the log unfortunately but I can post some habitat shots. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks again and will be back to update soon.

Will post habitat shots soon
