Hi there,
This site is brilliant & I plan to spend a bit of time reading up on stuff more when I get the chance, but I wondered if anyone could help me with an ID on the following pictures.
These have been found in the grounds of a hospital, in London, in a private garden on soil, & I was wondering if anyone had any idea whether they were liberties? (there is literally no intention to use them involved either way, we were just intrigued by if these had been planted by an individual, as they have appeared very very recently, & were not there at all last year at this point). They are much larger & wider in size than any liberty caps I've previously experienced, but I wondered if anyone had some idea of what they may be, & where they may have sprung from!
I hope the pictures are decent enough for ID.
Thank you in advance for any help. This site is fantastic

Coprinellus similar to C. micaceus.
I have never understood why anybody would mistake these for P. semilanceata, but you're not alone; many people do.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Thank you Canid!
Without going into too much detail, I wanted to be sure there was nothing too 'usable' about these, as their location is in a private garden of a rehab clinic, & as I say, they appear to have just cropped up this year (there was definitely nothing there last year)
Really appreciate the ID

Probably a reasonable idea.

They may have started fruiting in response to the die-back of part of the root system for whatever woody shrub or tree in the vicinity it is they're fruiting from.
