does anyone have any experience with: bulk/mono teks, or any high-yield teks, that do not use PCs? If so, what would you say is the best?

PF cakes will be really reliable for spawn. You'll just need to make a lot of them.
You could also try fractional sterilization of quart grain jars. Takes time. http://www.shroomery.org/5248/What-is-fractional-sterilization-or-tyndallization

Can you break up a fully colonized jar and spread it across a tub..?

is this much worse/equal to PCs? How would you say it compares?

Fractional sterilization fails 90% of the time.
I would never recommend that to anyone....

I have several buckets and trays going right now that were done with this tek and BRF jars I bought online, and I understand you can make those BRF jars without a PC I just haven't had to yet. no PC involved and no contams yet although one tray showed some bruising yesterday it seems to be fine now. pins in both trays today
sub tek: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11916595#11916595
bucket tek: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/remlinker.php?Cat=&Entry=131377&F_Board=2&Thread=18946067&Main=18892960
scaled down sub tek for smaller grows: 1/4 brick coir 1 quart verm (4 half-pint jars full) 4-6 half pint cakes 1 tsp gypsum 1 quart water (I'm going to up this next time to probably 1.5 Q slowly and test for field capacity, I think it was a bit dry but doing OK)
see my sig for link to my grow photos in progress.

I think you meant to say a question for the broke. Wait until you get a pressure cooker or you'll have to use brf cakes as spawn. RR
