Tylopilus... porphyrosporus!
    #19049174 - 10/28/13 09:55 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
PNW, doug fir

Gills:
brown pores, similar to pileus/stipe color - even on the young specimen

Stem:
not bulbous, striate

Cap:
Velvety olive brown - first pic is closest to actual color

Spore print color:
left in situ, no spore print

Bruising:
Didn't check, but I think I see a bit of perhaps green bruising on pores in some of the pics.

http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Tylopilus_porphyrosporus.html The other two are Aussie fungus, seemed like when I punched them up on google. Also T. formosus seemed to have a darker cap. That is mt opinion

Bingo!  Mykoweb sez probably edible, but I found these a bit close to the tracks to want to taste 'em.  And that was last year.  They were prolific enough that I might gnosh on a good looking young specimen for a dare.  ;-)

They're very fondleable, though, all velvety.

Thanks so much!
