No snowboarding where I'm at I used to teach lessons at crystal mountain (WA) every weekend for a free seasons pass and chalet to crash at. The pay was shitty but the free pass and snow bunnies were great perks! Nothing like smoking a bowl on the chairlift on a powder day

Yeah the place I used to go to I new the owners and managers and shit so I got in for free all the time. They wanted me to do lessons, I've always been told I was a good teacher. I usually get people carving by the end of the day when I'm teaching them.
I'm good at breaking it down for people that are new to it since I taught myself and struggled a bit, I know a lot of tricks to help people get comfortable on a board.

I think I've only gone snowboarding 2-3 times these past three years or so. I used to do it quite a bit more often though

I'm terrible at winter sports . I might give it a go, though.
My parents are buying a house up in the mountains so I'm probably eventually gonna go up there, try some cross country skiing, get lost in the woods, and die of hypothermia maybe idk.
edit:
maybe I'll just wait for another blizzard to hit Philly so I can x-country ski through the city and not get lost.
..Winter's not my season.

Idk I think that would be a pretty glorious death Ever try snowboarding? It really is amazing, just take some lessons or something! I mean if you're gonna be in the mountains you might as well make the best of it

I would be so fucking pissed at myself the whole time if I let myself get stranded and die of hypothermia
I would like to try it, I'm so apprehensive about it because I'm terribly clumsy and seem to hurt myself just walking around a lot. I'm also on the mend from a fractured foot as it is.
I've heard it's harder than skiing, and I've tried skiing before and have been absolutely terrible at it. That was a long time ago.

I was going to suggest cross country skiing in Philly until I read your last sentence.
And if by mountains you are referring to my area, then you will have a hard time getting lost considering the Poconos are like hills compared to mountains out West. There is civilization all around them.
If you ever make it up my way this winter I would gladly try and teach you how to board.
I'm not exactly a professional though, my riding peers poke fun of my inexperience compared to theirs.

Bahaha, what mountain/lodge/whatever are you at, anyway?
And it's kind of by you, I guess - they've had houses up on the NY/PA border and in Gouldsboro and now they're looking at a bunch of places back in Gouldsboro and around Hazelton/wilkes barre.
And my sense of direction is astoundingly fucking horrible. Once I'm off of the grid(and by that I mean anywhere other than a city that is on a grid system...) I am probably lost. But yeah, the Poconos are pretty weak compared to what the rest of the country generally considers mountains.

Jack Frost Big Boulder ski areas is where I ride, it's two different sister mountains about 5 miles apart from each other.
There's like 4 different mountains within a 50-75 mile radius of me.

I'm really excited for snowboard season, and I live in southern ontario, where the hills are small and the weather is shit.

Id love to start catching air. I hit a good size ramp going almost full speed one time...I guess I leaned back too much and was perpendicular to the ground in the air luckily I got some of the board down first to absorb some of the impact but still slid like 30 yards. Itll take a sec to get that brave again. Snowboarding I am realizing is a lot about not trying to make the board do what u want but let it do its thing and correct its direction.
