    #19047683 - 10/28/13 06:07 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Found in texas. Spore print is black. Bruising on stems. Note the color change from picture to picture on stems. Thanks for your opinion.

Id say Psythrella because I dont see any blue bruising on the stems just red. Could be wrong but Psythrella spore prints black as well as Coprinellus.

These are very interesting. I think I almost see bruising on the cap margin in pic #3. Also, the gills are mottled and have white edges, which would rule out papilionaceus? Look at the stems and caps... I mean, I don't see resemblance to paps at all really. I think they are either cinctulus or something more interesting like fimicola or maybe even olivaceus. OP, can you describe the habitat more?

Yes, the bruising is red. I'm am also confused. Idk. They were found in cow dung, if that helps at all.

I think that's a distinct possibility.  That's what I would call them.  Granted, without any other good dung-loving species near me I don't see them all that often.

They don't appear to be hygrophanous, which would rule out Panaeolus cinctulus

Which is why they could be something really cool like olivaceus or fimicola/ater.

Possibly Pan. fimicola, but Paps is as good a guess.
