Tempeh and Portabella
    #1904769 - 09/11/03 11:40 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

This is quick and easy as shit:

1 package of tempeh, cut into little cubes
2 big portabella shrroms (or a bunch of smaller ones)
Willow Run vegan margarine
Red Wine (optional)

Melt some margarine in a frying pan, in goes the tempeh and portabellas, and when the tempeh is getting a little browned it's done. Pretty easy, huh? Put a little red wine in if you like.

Tempeh is tofu's tough cousin from the other side of the tracks...actually, that's about right, it's soy-based, but is denser and nutty in taste, alot more palatable to most people than tofu is.

You can really take it right out of the package and put into a sandwich if you want, it's really pretty versatile, but I like it hot best.
