Habitat: I found these growing straight out of the ground in groups in my woods in southern Georgia. They are around pine and oak trees. They where growing next to a bunch of fallen branches.
Gills: They appear purple or a purple ish brown. Some have a white residue on the tips.
Stem: Brownish that fades into a white root
Cap: Brown with darker edges. Convex and the older ones have some cracks.
Bruising: Bruises a dark color undetectable. Some are a little on the blue side.
Other information: They smell like other psychoactive mushrooms I've had previously. I cannot upload pics on here from my phone. If you would like me to send you a picture ask me for my phone number.

The description sounds like a Cortinarius species. No one is going to want to text a random person on the internet.

The Psilocybe species in section Mexicanae that grow here in GA are found primarily in the hot and humid summer months. I would be very surprised to see them this time of year.

No that could be any number of things. Most likely a Cortinarius species or perhaps a Blewit which are everywhere this time of year under pine.
