Haven't seen this before
    #19043537 - 10/28/13 12:05 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys, my girlfriend wanted me to track down an id for her but this is all I have to go on

I told her the picture wasn't blurry enough to submit for a formal id request :/

I don't even know where to begin and was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction.

Does it look familiar? You can click on the thumbnail

Looks like a sun dried Armillaria cluster to me.

That thing is crazy!  I'd guess an incredibly tight bundle of dry Armillaria too.

awesome, thanks! I actually muttered "Armillaria" under my breath right before she showed me the pic, but they're so tightly bundled together I started second guessing myself :/

not to mention, half the time I see an id request on here and I'm all like:

"Coprinellus!"

and then a trusted identifier comes along and is all like:

"That's an oak leaf! No it's not active!"

I've seen them look like burnt popcorn before, but that cluster is crazy... almost fused looking... immature for sure.... awesome weird!
