Two very simple rhizo fruiting questions

Hi, I used the search engine but I can't find the direct answer to two questions.
1) Is rhizomorphic mycelium a sign of fruiting?
2) How long does the rhizomorphic mycelium take to fruit?
Thanks.

Someone will better explain this soon but here's my attempt, im a newb so my apologies if any of this is incorrect
From my understanding, rhizomorphic is simply an adjective to describe healthy, aggressive mycelium
How long something takes to fruit depends on its conditions, genetics, etc.
I assume ur referring to a pf cake, in my experience pins show up 4-7 days(maybe longer) after the cake has been dunked and introduced into the sgfc
ime the pf tek takes between 5-7 weeks from inoculation to first harvest, im sure others have had faster success but not this guy

Yes, I was asking in regards to if a cake was in a terrarium, already dunked and cased yet looking very rhizomorphic after being birthed.

1) Nope. But if you have already dunked it and your seeing "feelers" growing off the cake it might be a sign of something else. 2) If you waited after 5-7 days after the cake was completely colonized you might have 4-5 days left in the chamber. If you did not wait, you might have a week or more. The reason is that the mycelium need the extra time to finish consuming the nutrients in the cake before they fruit. Remember pinning is triggered by evaporation, so make sure you are misting and fanning properly.

No....

There is no way to know for sure...it depends on different variables, such as genetics and FAE.

Did you give it a full week of consolidation before birthing?
What kind of fruiting chamber do you have?

I had an SGFC. It didn't have the small holes like everyone suggests, it was a hybrid in the sense of a monotub. Just two holes, one higher than the other, on opposite sides. Perlite on the bottom.
They had sat maybe 5 days before fruiting.

That is in no way a SGFC....
That has fail written all over it.
Perlite is only used when you have 1/4" holes every 2" on all 6 sides.
Having perlite in the bottom of a tub with no holes is pointless.
Did you give them a full week of consolidation, after full colonization, before birthing?
Or did you birth them at 100% and skip the week of consolidation?

perhaps. The fanning was done more frequently than 12 hours apart. Would had having a small electric fan (think computer size) help the situation? Or would that mess with humidity somehow?

We do not fan for FAE...you chamber should be getting FAE constantly regardless.
We only fan after misting, so that the water we misted can evaporate.
A small fan is only going to ruin your humidity and dry out your cakes.
Build a proper SGFC.

The language I'm using is an attempt to dictate that this thread was made in reference to the past. The success in what I would consider to be closer to a micro transaction is relative to the user.
Building a proper SGFC is clearly not a strong point, so something different will be built for future projects, if they happen to pop up.
