Thoughts?
Was just watching a movie where a British actor has to do this and I noticed that he slipped up during these lines that were a bit more expressive/emotional.

I don't think it's any more difficult than an American doing an English accent. Maybe he was just a shitty actor. Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays "House" is English. You'd have no idea watching the show.

I remember when I used to play halo 2 on xbox live a lot there would be British people trying to impersonate an American accent, they usually sounded kinda like arnold swarzernager or w/e his name is

I was watching an episode the other day and on it he was making fun of someone(Chase I think), and he was doing it in a British accent, he sounded like an american trying to do a British accent, I thought it was pretty cool.

Yeah some British and Australian actors can do American accents perfectly. Others are pretty bad, like a 50's movie character with overblown drawl.
Hollywood Irish accents are usually pretty terrible. I've met lots of people from Ireland and there are numerous different regional accents. The accents in movies usually sound like a corny stereotype, always the same and always bad.

I didn't even know the guy from The Wire was British until I was half way through with the series. Brenda from Six Feet Under also did a great American accent, I was really surprised to find out she was Australian.

Seemed more like a pastiche of Dick van Dyke's awful attempt at a 'cockney' accent in the Walt Disney film 'Mary Poppins', except the 'Mcnulty' character does a quick tour through a few English regional accents, for added Lols.

I didn't know that jax has a british accent...
...But that explains alot.
He has definitely slipped up, it's always when he's trying to be over emotional and he just goes high pitches and started squawking like a bird.
I think his english accent sounds worse, though.

I didn't know Stringer Bell was played by a British actor until like this year when I saw he was the star of some show on the BBC. I've re-watched some episodes and sometimes it's seems pretty obvious now that I know, sometimes it doesn't.

Good British actors seem to do American accents very well. I remember the guy who played McNulty slipped up once in a scene where he was supposed to be drunk, and the British came out.
Two of my favorites are Gary Oldman and Tim Roth. Daniel Day Lewis (Irish I guess) is another great actor that can nail the American accent.
I don't think American actors do accents as well. I know Meryl Streep can do accents, and Leonardo DiCaprio sounded convincing to me as a South African in Blood Diamond. But I think Keanu Reeves singlehandedly ruined the reputation of Americans in Dracula.
