I think I might know what these are but I'm still pretty new at this and would greatly appreciate a second opinion.
Habitat: Found on mulch under Douglas Fir in park in pacific NW.
Gills: Light tan brown on smaller specimens while darker, chocolate brown on larger ones. Gills are adnexed.
Stem: Stem is white and not hollow. Approximately 3 - 7cm long and 3-5mm in diameter. No visible ring on stem.
Cap: Cap diameter ranges in size from 1.5 cm to 4.5cm. Color is brown with honey undertones in smaller samples. Larger caps have a ringlike pattern with the outside of the cap being brown and the inside being tan. Some caps appear umbonate, most are wavy.
Spore print color: Spores appear to be somewhere between purple and chocolate brown.
Bruising: Bruises dark blue/black.
Other information: Mushroom doesn't have much of a scent.

Psilocybe cyanescens. Since you removed all that mycelium with the stem butts you should try to grow another patch with it.

Yes. Put it in some other moistened woodchips.
Something from the store for a smoker or something. Get alder chips and soak them over night and put all the stem butts and wood chips you pulled up with the stem butts in the moistened new woodchips. Put all of that in a little cardboard box or something and put it outside and make sure it is moist. Not soaked, but moist.

BTW. Its considered uncouth to pull up so much substrate when harvesting mushrooms.
It rips up the mycelium and makes them have to repair the damage instead of fruit more.
It can also destroy a patch.

Thanks--I'll make sure not to pull any up in the future.
