Not necessarily. I would not eat them, but I have not seen any reliable reports of poisoning either.

Yes a Phelota Maybe Pholota aurivella They taste like Stale marshmellows and have been known to cause gastric upset and the Hershy squirts in some. I have known several people that have tried them and they all experance some degree of stomach upset.

No I'm sorry its not the pholiota or any of its family members. The cap was without warts.. it was smooth and the texture was not bumpy. So can I please get an ID on my shrooms

When they get old the warts fall off and some Phelota are smooth. I only thought P.aruvilla only because its quite common right now and they like to grow in Those conditions,on brocken or scared areas up in tree. Looking at the spore print it is brown typical of species Phelota. If you happen to have a microscope and want to scope out the spores.could be Pholiota malicola which does not have warts but still al phelota although intresting mushroom, eating them is anit climatic for sure and in some can make one sick

The scales on some Pholiota can also wash off in heavy rains. Get some photos of fresh specimens and things will be clearer.
