cubes?

I usually just go for p. semilanceata, but today I found these, and thought some might be cubes. I'm in the UK, and I believe p. cubensis grows here.
Thanks for any help.

Protostropharia. Cubes don't grow there.

This article says p. cubensis grows in the UK, but in other places, the UK isn't included in the list of places it grows..

The first thing to note about that "article" is the mention of "two types" which is also incorrect, as there are several species of Psilocybe which have been reported from the UK.

Since they are a sub-tropical to tropical species I don't think that can be accurate.
If it has happened outside of a closet somewhere, it was very extraordinary.
And it certainly would not happen in the fall or winter.

Thanks for the info.
I'm just starting out. I can confidently identify p. semilanceata, but I don't know about which other psilocybe mushrooms grow in the UK. Are there any other common ones?

Wow, quite a few then!
It took me a while to become confident with p. semilanceata. I'm not sure where to start with that list!
Does anyone know which are the most common (after liberty caps - which I assume are the commonest)

P. cyanescens (mulched gardens) and Gymnopilus grow from buried wood, mulch or logs, mainly. Sometimes as the base of trees.
