I found these mushrooms on the edge of my lawn growing near rhodies and to me they look like Psilocybe cyanescens but I do not know much about them. Please help me :P

Either P. cyanescens or P. alenii.

Ah I see, yes I just looked up multiple pics of both and it seems like they might be P. alenii which is also a good edible right? I am fairly new to all of this

No, neither is a good edible, but both are psychoactive, with similar alkaloid concentrations.

Well I guess it depends on ones definition of a "good edible"

They taste like soiled linens (if you know wha'mean ), and they are potent psychoactives.

The bruising is what says they are Psilocybe. There is clear blue bruising in the pic. I think it's a Psilocybe Allenii, doesn't look wavy enough to be a cyan, but could be either.

Trained eye. Post every doubtful specimen here and we'll check it for you. But yeah, blue bruising is the best indicator. Although some people can confuse blue bruising with blackish stipes that Galerina has. But Galerina species very rarely grow on woodchips, rotting conifer logs are their preference.

Perfect example of what I meant by trained eye. You have great enthusiasm, but you lack the 'experience', your eye hasn't adapted to recognize such small differences. The mushroom in the first post is most definitely not a Galerina, it's either P. cyanescens or P. allenii.

Ah okay thanks for the help, yes I can post more picture of the mushrooms later, many of the other ones were pretty wavy. I did try two of the small shrooms and had pretty good results so I guess they would have to be psilocybe :P
