yeah its true, rome 2 is the worst release by the creative assembly to date. but since the new patches, its playable on lowest settings if your machine is half decent.

the campaign is unplayable but i only got it for the online battles, been playing alot lately and although its nowhere near as good as rome 1, it does get good once your used to the change

that's really disappointing to hear.. I love rome total war and play it all the time and figured if they were going to re do it then it SHOULD be their best to date.

Shame..

have they even fixed the "blob" problem? I haven't played since the past couple patches, but when I played the units absolutely could not hold a line. all battles would end up being a massive blob. oh and i forgot about no guard mode, and no family tree, and capture points in open field battles. wtf CA

are you new to the total war series? if so, you should check out any of the older ones.
the rest actually involve strategy. rome 2 was super simplified and dumbed down. last
i heard that was due to them planning to port it to consoles.

good job on ruining one of the greatest game series ever CA or Sega. whoever is responsible.

I have them all D:

Can't beat Empires simplicity/blandness, to be honest :p (which I still love). Then again the game was more a diplomacy/Economy game for me then it was Warfare.

Strategy?

MW2, put spearmen around gate, goodbye enemy full stack army. :lolsy:

I'm just glad it has a built-in hotseat.

idk man. i just tried to play rome 2 again, and i just don't see how sending
all units into a giant blob and hitting the arcade buffs until you win is fun.

THAT's EXCELLENT STRATEGY  :peyotezen:

The only two I've ever played are the first Rome total war (my personal favorite) and Medieval 2 and it's expansions. I love both, but sadly couldn't run any of the other ones.

Shogun 2 seemed awesome.

I think I completed Rome 1 with every faction.. What is the best in series in your guys' opinion??

I also played Medi, can't recall if it was 1 or two though.. I liked the priests/religion aspect of those, fun killing them with assassins etc.

Not as fun as repeatedly killing the Pope until you got one that liked your faction though. I just put 7-8 assassins next to Rome and killed all clergy/Popes until I got a winner.

My thoughts exactly, i could tell you play TW games by your name.

Its actually pretty hard to answer which series is the best. I liked Rome 1, MW2, Napoleon and Shogun 2 a lot. I’ld probably have to say MW2 because i love cavalry though.

You can wreck that spearman gate strategy with some crossbowman btw.

did anyone play the Britannia expansion for MW2?

I loved that one, the Irish and Scottish factions especially. Probably because it's my heritage. Also William Wallace.
