    #19039583 - 10/27/13 07:39 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

`

you see that one mushroom. the bottom of the cap is falling off. does this mean the cap is breaking? can i harvest him?

or can i leave him for like 24hour more so he gets bigger without spores falling and then pick all the others too?

thx vm.

You don't have to pick them all at once. Just pick them as they are ready. When the veil breaks like the one in the pic it is time to harvest. You don't want them to drop spores on your substrate. This signals it that the life cycle is complete and to stop fruiting

Just cut it as close to the bottom as you can without hurting the others. Or you could decapitate it  I've done that before

Looks good to me. They always bruise a blue/green color where you cut em.

Go to the store and get some batteries

Beautiful mushies, nice work
I wait till about a third of the veils break and pick them all, if for consumption purposes. This allows you to dunk, roll and get the next flush started.
The veils don't have to break to harvest, in fact the shrooms are more potent prior to them breaking.
When growing for spore printing, I wait till all veils break and spores start to drop little, then pick them all

Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I agree eating mushrooms is gross. Dry them, grind them, put them in capsules. Never taste them again

I've gotten to the point where I love the taste of them dry I guess over time it gets better it signals for me to get in that state of mind for trippin. The fresh ones are a little worse but I still love em. If mushrooms only came in capsules it would sadden me and probably take away from my tripping time.
