I tried a cigarette when I was 14 because I thought I was cool but I puffed it and it tasted like shit and didn't touch tobacco until I was legal age to buy it and bought a cigar and took two puffs and threw it away I don't understand it either

I almost got addicted once. You know how I quit? I simple realized that the buzz was way too short-lived.

I currently started buying cigs since I can't smoke weed because of impending probation and I just like the act of smoking something, but I regularly go days without them with no problem.
Heh, I was once like you. After I started buying packs I was done for. Not saying you will become addicted, but it's pretty easy to slip into.
It's not like it's my first time I've bought cigs lol, nicotine has just never been very addicting to me.

I started smoking in high school because every one would go off property have a smoke and get high if I didn't smoke back then probably wouldn't have met a lot of the people that I knew I am finished with that stuff now I do find most of them to be harsh and foul tasting nicotine has never been very addicting to me either it didn't do any thing for me check out this video

I never really found it addictive I tried cigs once because I found a pack of them on the ground I smoked them all, and I had no desire to smoke any more or buy them. (I only smoked 1 a day)
I may get into cigars through (:

Neither did I. I only smoked for a year or so, in high school, and I'm not even sure why I quit, but it was cold turkey. My dad did it the same way. He says it also might've helped that his work place stopped giving cigarette breaks after a smoking ban, and that was it for him. Good thing they did that. I can't even imagine him smoking now.
Maybe I'm just not meant to be a smoker of anything. The smell really offends me for some reason.

zZZz said: likewise. it perplexes me why people would say tobacco is more addicting than other drugs.
The way it effects dopamine response. It makes the brain more sensitive to dopamine changes. Ive had minor withdrawals from opiates and they are much more intense than cigarettes, I felt like my body was going to explode from the inside. But I was able to push through it one shot regardless of my body feeling sick.
Cigs is different, I'm literally fighting my own conscience. It almost brainwashes you so you make excuses to smoke, maybe that happens with full opiate addiction as well but idk.
Bottom line is I don't really believe the withdrawal is as intense as heroin or cocaine but I do believe that breaking the mental link to your daily activities is worse than other drugs.

I read that tobacco is not physically addictive, only psychologically, like marijuana. I don't know if that's true, but I do know that nic addiction is mostly psychological.
Those that are psychologically addicted to marijuana like the altered perception. Those that are psychologically addictive to cigs are so by way of habits. Habits are more subconsciously driven than the will to alter perception. Therefore cigarettes (if one has developed many habits with them) are more "addictive".
IME.
