tryng out my first pressure canner-cooker
    #19035601 - 10/26/13 12:56 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Trying out my new "Presto" pressure-canner I just bought, for the first time; but aw man, look at the drip plate on my stove ... it got real blackened from the 1-hour sterilization. Duh, whas'sup w/that?

It looks like it went through that scene in "Blazing Saddles" when they're all sittin' around a campfire heatin' up beans all night ... and passing methane bombs!

Wow! Cool contraption, this pressure canner-cooker! All the wild recipes in the book. I never knew you could do cake and puddings in there ...geez, who knew!

(not to mention a chapter on how to can goose, rabbit, and duck ... seriously)

I think that's just for quacks though (ba-da-boom ... ~tish)

now it's off to get the the final things I need for an incubation chamber. either a heating pad .. or reptile terrarium heater ... or aquarium heater ... something .. not sure which ... ought to just position a few of my blowhard relatives next to it .. there's your "hot air" ... hahahaha

Sometimes slow and steady wins the race. You may have to turn the burner down a little before getting it so hot that it does what your picture proves.
