Rusty color to perlite

I noticed this red hue to my perlite. I have been misting and fanning three times a day for a bit now. I am using the pf tek. The cakes look clean, and they are already pinning after a 24 hour dunk to begin the second flush. The first flush looked clean with no obvious contaminates and no red color. Is this coloration on the perlite normal?
I should note that this actually could be the water where I live. I am using water straight from the tap to mist and my area is actually known for having some odd mineral buldups leading to plumbing problems etc.

I don't know what it is but I'd like to note that whatever it is, bacterial, mineral, chemical, etc., seems to be occurring directly under your airflow holes.

Whoa, and you drink that? Enough excess minerals to cause plumbing to fuck up is likely enough to fuck up your biological plumbing.

I would and I'd probably add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water in case there is something getting in through the holes. That may not be necessary but I definitely don't like seeing unusual colors in/on/near my grow so I'd play it safe.

I gave the cakes a good misting and removed them from the SGFC. I poured out the perlite and bleached the SGFC on all surfaces and bleached my spray bottle. I replaced the perlite with new, clean perlite.
Should I add the hydrogen peroxide to the water I mist with daily? If so, at what concentration?

Where are people getting this peroxide info?
I am so sick of hearing about misting with peroxide.
It is not a good thing...unless you have cobweb mold....and even then the mycellium hates it.

I'll answer that for you.
Prior to the mid 2000's there are threads in which it is suggested to mist all the time, preventatively, with h2o2 (I see a 1:10 ratio mentioned most often). By 2007 we see threads where RR maintains that it is not preventatively necessary, and should only be used ad hoc in combating Dactylium, and then by '09 or so this view is quite well-spread if not taken for granted.
As for why these early threads suggest misting with h2o2 preventatively....idk. As you know, I was doing it before mentioning it here and being corrected.
Edit: And yes I know it is the convention to refer to threads 2-3 years old or newer.

Yeah do not use H2O2!

I never said to mist with hydrogen peroxide. I said that adding it to the water you initially saturate the perlite with wouldn't be a bad idea, and I can't think of any reason that it would hurt, especially as the red shit is unidentified and seems to be coming into the SGFC via the airholes and setting up shop, whatever it is.
