The Closer I Get, I can't relate,
This ain’t our place, let us go far far away.
Find a new home, rules of our own, you and me both are the same.

These two songs work well enough for me.

The flame has been saved by the man who would banish it...

----------------

Sometimes you wake up and your world is swallowed up
Sometimes your world changes overnight
Sometimes the ones you love betray you
Sometimes you find yourself all alone

My life has fallen apart so many times I lost count
So many people I knew, now they are all lost
One thing is guaranteed you always die alone

Sometimes you want to put a gun to your head
Sometimes you want to pull the trigger, now you're dead
Sometimes we cry ourselves to sleep
Sometimes you find yourself all alone

My life has fallen apart so many times I lost count
So many people I knew, now they are all lost
One thing is guaranteed you always die alone

Nightmares become real inside my head, I dream of my death

My life has fallen apart so many times I lost count
So many people I knew, now they are all lost
One thing is guaranteed you always die alone

To be human is to be fettered, to endure what one is, in perpetuum, no matter what the debility or perversity.

Hooray for Me - Bad Religion

Well I can see my teenage father standing straight on a desolate corner
In the shadow of tentacled towers by the red light of America
I imagine how his mother felt
When she heard that her husband was dying

And that underground heroes of the tarmac
Shoot smack were blowing up worlds
And damned out loud
Hey can you tell me how does it feel?

Yeah, tell me, can you imagine, for a second
Doin' anything that you don't have to?
Well that's what I'm accustomed to, so 'Hooray for me'
And fuck you

When I slept with stony faces on the riverbank
My angel devil reveler shook me desperately in dying
I don't exactly want to apologize for anything, and now
We're all mad and tangled, in secret rooms, with Roman candles
On an endless graveyard train

Yeah, tell me, can you imagine, for a second
Doin' anything just 'cuz you want to?
Well, that's just what I do, so 'Hooray for me'
And fuck you

Yeah, I was dreaming through the 'How's life' yawning
Car back at that night, she told me 'Mad and meaningless as ever'
And a song came on my radio like a cemetery rhyme
For a million crying corpses in their tragedy, of respectable existence

Tell me, can you imagine, for a second
Doin' everything you ever wanted to?
Well, that's just what I do, so 'Hooray for me'

Oh, yeah, I'm not respectable, and never sensible
May be incredible so damned irascible
I like the things I do so 'Hooray for me'
And fuck you

If you are referring to my OP song they have two CDs which are very good with similar material. The others not so much.

RAW SIENNA
and
A STEP FURTHER

Raw Sienna is a work of art imo. I'm not much into the Blues unless it's done just like this one.  Gut wrenching and not about some dumb broad who done him wrong. This is real junkie blues and a work of philosophy at it's rawest.

Well after some reflection, I'd have to say The Gnome.

I want to tell you a story
About a little man
If I can.
A gnome named Grimble Grumble.
And little gnomes stay in their homes.
Eating, sleeping, drinking their wine.
He wore a scarlet tunic,
A blue green hood,
It looked quite good.
He had a big adventure
Amidst the grass
Fresh air at last.
Wining, dining, biding his time.
And then one day - hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
Hoooooooooray.
Look at the sky, look at the river
Isn't it good?
Look at the sky, look at the river
Isn't it good?
Winding, finding places to go.
And then one day - hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
Hoooooooooray.
Hooooooooooooooray.

Or perhaps KC:

Said the straight man to the late man
Where have you been
I've been here and I've been there
And I've been in between.

I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear.

I'm on the outside looking inside
What do I see
Much confusion
Disillusion
All around me.

You don't possess me
Don't impress me
Just upset my mind
Can't instruct me or conduct me
Just use up my time

I talk to the wind
My words are all carried away
I talk to the wind
The wind does not hear
The wind cannot hear.

Depends on whether Im melancholic or not.

Of course, many songs find solace within my spectrum of experiences, not just these two. I am human, after all.

Ice, we really liked that cut. I've always remembered the skull on the 'looking In' album, but if I was going to buy some Savoy Brown, what would your #1 pick be? What album is 'Life's a One Act Play' from?

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Do you realize, you have the most beautiful face?
Do you realize, we're floating in space?
Do you realize, that happiness makes you cry?
Do you realize, that everyone you know someday will die?
You realize, the sun don't go down.  It's just an illusion caused by the world spinnin' round.
