Panellus Serotinus Edibility

So I found some of these over the past few weeks. I knew of them for some years, and decided that I would give a try eating them since my "National Audobon Society field guide to mushrooms" stated that they were edible. I figured I would check out my other book "Mushrooms and other fungi of North America" just to see how they describe the species. Weird that this books states they are not edible.

I looked at a lot of information about them, and found somewhere saying a couple people got nausea and upset stomachs from consuming them. Not a big deal, but I'm just curious as to how many of you guys eat these relatively often. I'm confident enough to eat them, since I've only found those two bits of information against them.

Anyways, here are some shots.

Late fall oyster mushroom are Awesome good flavor. I look forward to them every year. There a bit tough so I think that is why people may have some gastric problems but I par boil first and that makes them much more tender and meatier. I think they have better flavor than regular Oyster mushrooms.
