I never went to work drunk because booze makes me to giddy, so that would have been a dead giveaway.
Hungover on a weekend morning is another story.

Not sure if this is just a UK thing, but it's fairly common at my work to go for a couple of pints at lunch time. It's been the same everywhere I've worked.

Yea I've noticed that from watching a lot of movies and shows from the UK. From what I hear the American workplace in 50's and 60's was similar tho. You'd go to a meeting and everyone would have a couple tumblers of scotch and hotbox the meeting room with cigarettes lol. Times sure have changed.
