No I didn't try it. Made some shit up. Sorry man. Sarcasm and the www don't work well. Just eat some mushies and forget what colour they are.

Color is more related to light intensity & spectrum than nutrients. The only thing you'll tweak is how pale or rich the color is.
If you eat a couple, the rest may change color for you temporarily

That's a good question, despite the sarcasm that you're getting
Mycelium typically breaks things down into simpler components to be absorbed. look up Mycoremediation and Decomposition (in particular to fungi). Different species can accumulate different things (some fungi actually accumulate heavy metals from the earth, kinda cool). I'm not an expert on exactly what THIS strain of fungi breaks down, but if you did some research on the methods that it absorbs nutrients you might be able to figure out a way to do it.
If you did try food coloring it would have to be a 'natural', or organic one so that the mycelium would detect the carbon and break it down. However once it got broken down, if it still retained the actual color is beyond my knowledge.
Or maybe something like a synthetic dye that you mixed with a binding agent to get it to 'stick' to another nutrient so that it was inadvertently absorbed by the mycelium.
Good luck! Post any cool results you find.

I'm pretty sure they do something similar with flowers.. roses I believe I heard years ago. I'd probably start there and see why thay works and see if it can be applied to mushies.

It could be something as simple as adding in food coloring when you pasteurize your substrate lol. Plants use transpiration in that sense, which is why it works for them.
