I hate hip hop especially when you see white kids (teens and early twenties usually) with flat billed hats walking around with some beat up, white trash dope loving hooker that thinks that every man who throws a twenty down on a date after a two hundred dollar drug deal is a big time baller because he's in the game and bumps rap in his beat up POS car with its big speakers blaring through the suburban hood. These guys end up in jail within two or three years of this shit.

Show me a hip hop artist with creative lyrical talent that has a wise message or incorporates living life in a positive way, or encourages someone to change themselves or the world, a artist who can play a instrument, has some knowledge of music theory, can sing and in keys, knows what bass and soprano is, and is actually an intellectual poet at heart with a soul.
Either way, the majority of hip hop is crap and if I can't find 1/10 songs that are decent to listen to and make me think about shit then it's not a genre worth listening to. Hip hop really isn't art, it's just a big fad. It's ridiculous.

Not bad, not amazing either. I don't know, man. You try to play an instrument and see how hard it is and you just realize how much effort they put in and you appreciate it more when a man really knows his music. It's not that hip hop sounds bad, it just lacks soul.

This leads me believe you still have not heard any hip hop to date. The music originally comes from people in hardship and oppression , in modern days its been made mockery of in the form of mainstream as they have made it marketable to kids as a fashion statement , any hip hop enthusiast would agree that mainstream is pure crap.
Hip hop isn't the greatest genre when it comes to musical side of things, because the solo instrument is typically the person spitting his rhymes there , so you could view it as a form of poetry if you want and it might look more impressive. That being said there are some great hip hip producers that make pure instrumental beats without anyone rapping over them at all.
Traditionally the beats behind the rhymes were all sampled and looped but nowadays we get all sorts of production coming out of the genre, once again the rhymes are the main feature and having a steady beat helps set the flow for the artist.
Trust me , there is alot of effort that goes into both writing and producing hip hop tracks that are of good standard just like any genre. Just being able to flow in sync with the rhythm is a feat itself and the technical limits when writing hip hop are limitless.
Ill be back in a little while to post some tracks you can appreciate. Adios for now.

What are you on about , no human skill required? You should inform yourself before making such statements.
Hip hop is all about creative lyricism whilst providing encouragement to its listeners by incorporating positive messages. This is not the genre you listen to for mind blowing instrument solos so you best not judge it off such merit, rather than the lyrics which are able to paint pictures and tell stories much more efficiently than any singer when done by a proficient lyricist.
I wont post anymore cause I'm doubting whether you will actually listen to it or not

It should also be noted that the lyrics change with the times and social situation. Such as.

I must disagree it is very hard to produce a good beat im not much of a rap fan but i am a electronic music fan with ableton on my pc i also own guitar that i know how to play although i very rarely pick it up cause im more of bass head and prefer electronica to acutal bands
But it is very hard to produce a beat that sounds worth a shit

I listened to it and I'm trying to have an open mind. Tupac was a lyrical genius and he did have soul but that's only one out of millions and he wasn't even your typical rapper and his lifestyle was very different from what most would expect. Anywho, maybe I'm not giving it enough credit and maybe it does take SOME skill but I just can't find much soul in it, especially in comparison to other genres. Maybe it's just favoritism on both our parts, I don't know but I see much more soul in a band that plays instruments and sings together for years, bouncing ideas off each other and living life together through hard or easy times and then writing music about it. I just don't see any hip hop artists really living life to the fullest, it's more about showmanship and trying to be top dog in the "cool" factor instead of living life with immense and intense emotion then singing it with your brothers and jamming on your life long companion (instrument of choice). There is a soul filled bond between a man, his instrument and his band mates and I think that's what gives most genres of music it's soul, that along with life long experiences.

Post some videos of these soul filled bands you speak of, i don't think you understand that music comes from all sorts of origins and is made from the tools available at the time. If you familiarize yourself with the bands in various continents and countries you will see they use different instruments native to that region, who are you too judge how someone lives to their life and whether its full or not?
That's absurd, you know the saying one man's junk its another treasure , and your nuts if you don't think those aspects of showmanship haven't infiltrated band music , its a plague of the times, if you want to make big bucks showmanship is what sells these days and the whole marketing factor is not limited to genre. Most real musicians these days don't make much money off it and are not nearly as well known as those getting the support and marketing from the record companies, which limit your creativity no matter the genre.
If you think I'm playing the favoritism game , i might as well let you know I'm a practicing solo guitarist with a music collection of over 20 thousand songs not limited in genre. Good quality is good quality it does not matter what flavor it is.
Anyway i look forward to listening to the music you post and additionally i encourage you to share any rhymes you might have written or beats you have produced since you seem to think its such a cakewalk.
Do you think it takes no skill to write poetry also?

At the same time i kinda know how you feel about the 'soulfulness' of a particular band or artist but that's not limited to genre ill say once again. If you really want to go there the gypsies take it to a whole different level making us Western musicians look shallow as fuck. But you really cant measure things as such, its futile.

This is a futile argument, you're right. Any ego, the bands that I mention have typically been touring for 50+ years or disbanded when a member died but left a legacy behind them. I'm sure you know of a few that I speak of. Anyways, if you get anything out of hip hop ten good for you but I never will understand why people like it when you compare it to other music. I'm not battling for the win, bye.
