identification pinheads

i founded this little orange pinhead growing in soil with some woodchips im new in this page i got kind of excited but i dont expect much i live in mexico tj climate is a bit like san diego the quality of pictures sucks could someone tell me if this little mush is an active specie i will understand if you cant tell due the quality of the image

maybe when it gets bigger and with a better camera, but im starting to feel down :/ i just want some strain and if is woodlover will be better, but like i say i dont expect much here in tj climate is not good for shrooms as i have seen

Always conform to the ID request guidelines, including your geographical location since its not in your profile. Always spore print your finds (although I understand that would be impossible with baby mushrooms)

:p if you picked it, then it will die young and you probably won't get a print if it is not matured.

i will let him grow ,i wont pick it , just the climate its a bit dry this days, do you recommend me to water it? just in case

yeah you can water, but don't flood them. Then yeah good idea...when they mature take better pics, and post a good ID request with all info, including the spore print.

The mushroom season in Tiajuana is whenever it rains, this has the best chance of happening in January and February. In mid february there is a fungus fair in San Diego just a few miles to the north. They usually have more than 100 species.
The most common active in your area is Panaeolus cinctulus, other actives that I have seen at the sd fungus fair are Gymnopilus luteofolius and Pluteus salicinus.
If you have a visa or us citizenship you should go to the san diego myco events, their web page is sdmyco.org.
