Avoiding the Comedown Headache/Fatigue
    #19031380 - 10/25/13 02:26 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Any advice on how to avoid this? Something to eat/drink during comedown or before eating the shrooms to avoid this fatigue/headache?

--------------------
For years on end I have been sitting here,
impatiently awaiting potency: some explosive revelatory surge
that will carry me away and permit no looking back.
But this moment of deliverance has not arrived,
and I have done nothing to hasten it.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter.
Perhaps I wasn’t meant to do anything.
In which case, I have succeeded admirably.

I don't think so, lots of people always say the headache is down to dehydration, but I'm skeptical. I drank about 2 litres throughout my last trip and still ended up with a headache.

This is the first I've heard of this. All my comedowns from shrooms have been really pleasant. In fact, I feel better than before I had them.

I always get a headache and fatigue after a trip. I usually just smoke weed and take 2 advils and sleep.

I get quite a bit of tension on the ride down from any strong trip. I usually drink a few beers after my peak.

i haven't had one single trip without a headache after. it's a weird headache. one that i never get except after shrooms comedowns. i smoke and i drink beer and it's still there... i tried taking panadol today but it's still slightly there... it's like my brain is drained from what it was going through/experiencing every time

1) don't trip tired
2) have a good meal 6-8 hr before tripping
3) don't get dehydrated.... Most important
4) drink sugar or honey or juice drinks while tripping
5) a little caffeine with your mushrooms is good
6) don't fight the experience...
7) eat and drink on the come Down... Light meal

Just my 2 cents

hmmm , iv personally never had a headache on come down nor have I heard of any friends that have....

good advice from harryl ,I pretty much adhere to that or similar

some fatigue for the 24+ hours after a trip is pretty much inevitable ,especially after lager doses ,its a pretty exhausting experience , making a point of eating really healthy food and lots of sleep will greatly diminish fatigue

I've never experienced these symptoms. In fact, the opposite with LSD.

The comedown is the best part? You're probably not hydrated enough... Comedown feels like i took a bunch of xannys with watery flowy visuals still.

Vasoconstriction can cause headaches. Preload with a bunch of vasodilators like dark chocolate, ginko biloba, and L-arginine, that prevents the headache for some.

This

And then this - http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/archive/index.php/t-582120.html

Makes most sense in my experience with psilo, but some people apparently don't get the headaches at all, but I think if you do like me, it's nothing to do with food intake or dehydration.

Vasoconstriction is how the body regulates blood flow through the flexing of muscles that line arteries and some of the smaller vessels. It can slow bleeding after a cut and move blood away from the extremities when heat needs to be conserved. There are a lot of drugs that will cause these muscles to relax (dilating the vessels) or constrict. Many psychedelics are vasoconstrictors, and some of the RCs are strong enough to cause a dangerous lack of blood flow in an overdose.

When the vasoconstrictive effect wears off, the vessels dilate back open. This is when the headache starts. The sudden change might be stimulating the nerves that cause headaches. Taking vasodilators can prevent this change from being as sudden or dramatic. I've gotten pretty severe headaches after tripping when I don't follow these steps: -3hr 120mg ginko, 3g l-arginine, 1 oz dark chocolate; 0hr 120mg ginko; +2hr 120mg ginko, exercise. Ginko can cause stomach upset, don't take any of those during a trip without testing them first. I could be completely off in the timing, and I haven't repeated it enough to be certain it works. YMMV. :strokebeard2:
