FFS, does it really matter what country we come from as long as we're all white men, destined by god himself to civilize the savage and dark continents that surround us?
Oh wait, yeah it does!

Haha, you keep trying to claim america its pretty funny dude. I don’t know if you know or not but Portugal’s “crown jewel”, Brazil has a higher GDP than the UK….. Also with all your arrogance you seem to be forgetting that the most powerful empire of the time couldn’t put down a simple peasant insurrection. Also known as our no shoe having, rag tag motherfuckin, patriots. America fuck ya!!!!!
But sure keep taking credit for the success of every successful ex colony (that looks at your ownership of them as nothing but a horribly one sided exploitation) while completely dodging your numerous failures (ww1,ww2, fucking isreal/palestine… i think you get the point) Its cool though i like England and English history, you guys are just so self important holy shit, you would think the English empire was Rome by the way yall talk.
Pax Americana is a zillion times cooler than Pax Britannica.
Brazil has 3 times the population as the UK. Are you alright?

Pesky Pesky Nargles...
Day 26:
Jack O' Lanterns:

Here begins my series on spooky and or halloween related history facts, and this could for double because it's a Celtic fact as well for Simple-Psyman; from now until Halloween (possibly after) all of my facts will be halloween themed.
We will be starting off this spookiness with the history behind Jack O' Lanterns, an old tradition that has spanned centuries, and can be traced back to Ireland. The myth it originated from is the Irish myth of "Stingy Jack." It is said that Stingy Jack and the Devil went out to get drinks, but Jack did not have the money. After some convincing the devil transformed himself into a coin to pay for their drinks with. But Jack decided not to use the coin to pay for the drinks and instead kept the devil in his pocket. He left the coin in his pocket next to a silver cross that prevented the Devil from transforming back. After a while Jack let the Devil go on the condition that bother Jack or claim his soul for a year.
The next year Jack tricked the Devil (who I guess is a real dumb ass) to climb up a tree to get some fruit. When the Devil was up in the tree Jack carved a cross in the bark of the tree preventing the Devil from descending. Jack would not allow the Devil to come down until he agreed not to bother him for another ten years.
Not too long after this Stingy Jack dies, but there is one problem, God's not too happy. Considering Jack to be to unsavory a person to be allowed into heaven God rejects his entrance. The Devil, still angry at Jack for his deceptions, as well as a beast of his word, doesn't want anything to do with Jacks soul either. So Jack just wanders the night using a coal in a carved out turnip and has ever since been wandering the earth.

The Irish began to refer to this figure as "Jack of the Lantern" which was eventually shortened to "Jack O' Lantern" As time went on people in Scotland and Ireland began to carve out scary faces in turnips and potatoes. They would pace them in their windows to scare off Stingy Jack and other malicious spirits. Much the same thing was done in England except they tended to use large beets. It was not until later when European immigrants brought the custom to American that we started to use pumpkins. This is due to the fact that pumpkins are native to the Americas.

Hitler sure was a moron, but he came awfully close to being the big dick on the block. The world got some breaks on that one.
