How to remove isopropyl stain from wood floor?

I used some rubbing alcohol to clean the injection site last night and spilled some on my floor. I forgot it happened until this morning when I noticed large white stains on the wood floor where it spilled. I tried using one of those Lysol sanitizing wipes, because that usually does the trick and it was close, but it didn't do much. Anyone know if wood polish or something to that effect would help?

They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion. [Carl Sagan, 1987 CSICOP keynote address]

Yep. The alcohol dries the wood. A wood polish should do well.

The alcohol didnt stain your floor, it distributed some type of dye. Ive never heard of this, but it is unfortunate.

try toothpaste, if that doesnt work you'll need some polyurethane to refinish the spot

Scrub the 'etchings' with just toothpaste or a little water mixed in as well?

Wow that worked pretty well. Took some furious scrubbing with a toothbrush but it did remove almost all of the white coloring. How did you know that would work and why does toothpaste work so well on isopropyl?

It redistributes the finish. Think buffing out a scratch on a car.

no, it simply wears away the bad part and some of the surrounding finish, it doesnt redistribute it
