dude you cant attribute all that success to the british.

First you gotta look at the colonies. Most spanish colonies were populated by the locals, whereas the brits pretty much exterminated the indigenous people. Then you gotta look at what happened to their colonial power. Spain fell apart hardcore in the 1700's and never really recovered, France is france, and Britain went on to dominate the world for another 250 years or so.

Canada had the benefit of having America as its only border and a bunch of fucking useless land protecting it from foreign invasion. Don't know much about Australia honestly, but you definitely cannot claim any patronage to the USA.

You wanna talk about Britain's African and Middle Eastern possessions now?:lolsy:

Man i heard Egypt and Palestine are beautiful this time of year

I don't have a problem with British people, to me the union jack has been used to legitimize theft, rape, murder, slavery, torture ect. This could be applied to most flags though

No? Obviously it is just coincidence that the most stable democracies in the 'new world', that is:
N.America, Australia and New Zealand, are all English speaking.

As for the middle east. Fuck em.
The mid east and the various Abrahamic dipshits in the region will be in constant strife, untill, between them, they bring about their beloved Armageddon.

As for Africa. Maybe we didn't take enough smallpox infected blankets with us
Seriously. We tried to teach the idiots how to count-you know, like, one man one vote-they just never could seem to grasp the concept and always resorted to:
one man one vote, but one mans got the 'bigger gun', and therefore 'wins' the election. facepalm:

India, the British Empires 'jewel in the crown', on the other hand, seemed to grasp this newfangled notion of counting quite well and became, despite it's obvious population problems, the largest democracy on earth.

On this day in 1944 the Japanese launched their counter attack on the American fleet at Leyte Gulf.  Led by the super-battleship Musashi the attack is cut to ribbons by the American escort fighters and the Musashi capsizes and sinks after being hit with at least 14 torpedoes and 8 bombs.  With it go over 900 men and the Japanese hopes of blunting the Leyte landings.

Haha, you keep trying to claim america its pretty funny dude. I don’t know if you know or not but Portugal’s “crown jewel”, Brazil has a higher GDP than the UK….. Also with all your arrogance you seem to be forgetting that the most powerful empire of the time couldn’t put down a simple peasant insurrection. Also known as our no shoe having, rag tag motherfuckin, patriots. America fuck ya!!!!!

But sure keep taking credit for the success of every successful ex colony (that looks at your ownership of them as nothing but a horribly one sided exploitation) while completely dodging your numerous failures (ww1,ww2, fucking isreal/palestine… i think you get the point) Its cool though i like England and English history, you guys are just so self important holy shit, you would think the English empire was Rome by the way yall talk.

Pax Americana is a zillion times cooler than Pax Britannica.

Many modern vampire myths come from the story of  Elizabeth, although recent investigation into her handwriting is leading historians to believe she was suffering from schizophrenia.

Quote:

Elizabeth however due to her rank, was instead bricked into her room where she had to live with her cat until she died.

Okay so this might be considered grave digging to a degree.
But I would just like to point out that there is a notable correlation between cat ownership, schizophrenia and a little organism known as Toxoplasma Gondii. Which enjoys making its living inside the bodies of mice cats and the brains of human beings.

How can you tell if there are three elephants in the your fridge?
You can't quite get the door closed.

Why did the tomato blush?
Because it saw the salad dressing.

...a simple peasant insurrection?
You may prefer the Hollywood version of events-more in keeping with the heroic 'daring do' so beloved by the movie going public-of our ancestors, and yes, I meant our ancestors, seeing as this "peasant insurrection" you speak of was(IMO)the first civil war on America soil. Maybe you should look to the statue that stands on liberty island for a closer take on reality.

Perhaps we should have all stayed at home and allowed the aboriginals of the world to carry on as they had for millennia. Maybe we should have ignored the nature of our species to spread, some might say, like a cancer around the world.
For good or bad, and, for just a few hundred years, Britannia 'ruled the waves' during which started, another new age in the progress- although, some might have called such progress "exploitation"- of mankind.
When, I wonder, would these "Aboriginals" have started their industrial revolution, if left to there own devices? Maybe I'm just exhibiting some of my English "arrogance", by pondering on such things.

I thought WW1/2 were won by the allies we are, after all, communicating in English.

Did I not mention the near east? Oh, yes, see above:
"As for the middle east. Fuck em"
This goes at least double for the scabby little stump of a tail,Israel, wagging the American dog.
The reality is that WW2 broke the back of the British empire, which was fast becoming an economic burden, without trying to referee the quarreling between the Israeli/Palestinian fucking idiots.

Only a zillion? Are you betraying a British ancestry by use of so modest an understatement.

Perhaps 'elax' would prefer we were all talking German or Aborigine of some sort.

Maybe we shouldn't have been such an arrogant dog-namn species, and, stayed in furkin Africa!

Edit: Just to add ,that, not only did WW2 break the back of the British empire, it left large numbers of people/ordinary citizens/ maimed and homeless due to the bombing of towns and cities. Which led, here in the UK, and I'm guessing across much of Europe, to the absolute need for government intervention by way of 'welfare' and some form of NHS (socialised healthcare) system.

On this day in 1941 the German offensive in the Central Front (Moscow) was completely exhausted due to fierce resistance of Russia and the advent of harsh winter fighting conditions that the Germans were not prepared to deal with.

To both of you cannucks, Whats the non existent argument?

That Canada isn’t mostly arctic tundra? lol the fuck......

Deucible: i guess i can agree with pretty much all of that last post aside from the Revolutionary war shit. You know the patriots were ratty as shit and basically an undersupplied militia against one of the most powerful armies of the time. The french played a big role no doubt, but british arrogance won the day for the Americans. You’re telling me to look up shit, look up von steuben and valley forge dude. Situation was pretty bad and they still won.

It would be like if Vietnam won their independence, oh wait :loldongs:
