Hi guys first time poster, I've been mushroom hunting in Australia but now I'm living in the UK it's best to play it safe and get some ID on my finds.
These were found alonside a walking track next to a canal.
The first lot have stems about 3 inches in length and rather thick. The second lot of stems are 4-5 inches. Colour change was small, not overly noticable though there was some darker discoloration.

psathyrella sp. inactive
-------------------- Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute or an hour or a day or even a year but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it will last forever.

One difference is liberty caps are a psilocybe (psilocybe semilanceata) and Psathyrella is a psathyrella Different genus
Google them!
See: http://www.shroomery.org/12510/Psilocybe-semilanceata

Another quick tip to gauge what you might have;
Psathyrella generally have fragile hollow stems. Psilocybe on the other hand usually have much stronger fibrous stems.
The presence of a pellicle and blueish bruising are other good visual indicators for most Psilocybe.
