Probably a stupid question but I cant seem to find anything online about it. But question is, how long will I be able to fruit from one set of cakes that I have? Can I theoretically keep dunk n rolling them time and time again? Or does the mycelium die and have a limit to its amount of flush depending on strain/species? Of course for my question its for cubes.

To answer both of you.
Who knows?
Just keep fruiting until it doesn't pin anymore or contams. Like using multispore, it's a crap shoot.
But you should at least get 2-3 before contams. If not, your sterility was compromised at some point.
Oh, and OP, no you can't fruit forever. They run out of nutrients.

I would say dont go more that than 3
You increase risk on contams which will get in your house and spread if you are not CAREFUL
Plus your flushses will be smaller after three by a bunch (depends on substrate and a few other condition) and you should just make a new tub youll get more

Thanks for the input, I figured brf can only last them so long, but I thought they may have to capability to sustain themselves once colonized, but I suppose we all do love food WITH water not one or the other. Good to know, thanks!

are you supposed to dunk them for 24hours after first flush? then just roll again?
also all those little aborts do you take them of before dunking?

Outdoors in a flower bed I've seen cakes continue to flush until they're about 1/10 the original size. Indoors, green molds always seem to get the cakes first. This is why we try to nail all the fruiting parameters early to get the most amount of product before green molds naturally take over.
One big impedance to multiple flushes is allowing spores to drop. When the mushrooms mature all the way to flat caps with spores everywhere, the mycelium gets the message that its life-cycle is complete and it begins to die back. This is when green molds have easy access to your remaining substrate because the mushroom mycelium has given up on it. RR
