culmination of two trips to a local nature reserve/woodland area as well as my first time having a decent camera in a couple of years. feel free to ID them if you wish, more knowlege is always welcome

aliens!

the people that look after the site have made loads of fungal/insect havens like this by piling up dead wood over the years
making for lil clusters like this

pholitas

very soggy patch of shaggy parasols

aaand back in the woods some lovely earth stars! (type of puffball that completely detaches itself from the ground as the 'petal' structures turn inwards underneath it.
this one looks like a geastrum pectinatum

must have walked past loads of them as theyre quite easy to dismiss as seeds or acorns to the untrained eye.
and my piece de la resistance.. Heracium corraloides! (aka fucking delicious)
size closeup
first time finding a nice edible - deffo going to keep an eye out for these more often

I think they are Lyophyllum decastes. Check with a TI.

Love earth stars! So cool looking, never have been lucky enough to find one tho.

Consider Melanoleuca species for these as well. That's where I would start at least.
