On the back burner ;)
    #19028225 - 10/24/13 08:44 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

They been in the fridge covered with aluminum foil that had holes I poked in it so they could breathe for close to a week now. They are Calvatea gigantea chunks. They look pure white still with a tad bit of yellowing. Ok to eat?

eh... probably ok... yellowing is a sign they could be turning... id eat them now or toss them out... either way, if its cooked, i doubt you have a chance of getting sick... they just might not be as tasty~

The yellowing was only on the top pieces and barely there. I threw them out and the rest are still pure white

you should be able to cook and freeze most any mushrooms....
I usually dry saute my big hauls and then freeze them... vacuumed sealed is best to prevent freezer burn... otherwise, just eat them with the next year...

i tried freezing fresh mushrooms before.. terrible idea. lol.
