Habitat: in a ground up mix of wood, mass quantities of sawdust and earth after good ol'fashioned Amish-style logging
Gills: pale brown, attached, narrowly adnate
Stem: fairly thick, hollow.
Cap: hemispherical, brown, drying to pale Spore print color: pending
Bruising: none evident
hope springs eternal... till i turn one over lol
I presume these are Psathyrella, sadly, i also assume nobody will disagree with me ;/
but they're a healthy bunch!
my screen name should have been LivingInTheWrongZipcode

Here i am standing on top of a 20' high pile of sawdust. Anyone want to stop by with a spare woodlover spore?

they look like Hypholoma or Galerina... the spore drop points towards Hypholoma...

i found both brick tops (Hypholoma lateritium) and sulfur tufts (H. fasciculare) in the same area, and i think i'm getting familiar IDing those...
I would not rule out galerina, but the lack of a veil remanent made me think otherwise?

The lack of veil remnants does not rule out Galerina. It doesn't even completely rule out G. marginata group.
The purple-brown spore deposits do though.
I propose Hypholoma sublateritium for these.

i'm not sure those were spore deposits, initially i was a bit excited, but closer inspection and i'm not sure they're deposits seeing how its on the outside edge of the outside fruit and i'm not seeing it on the inner ones, we had a cold dip last night and i would think tis frost damage of some kind.
thanks for looking xsketch but i dont think there is no bruising of any kind still no spore drop... i think i'll try the dropper of water and throw in the fridge method attributed to alan i believe

Right, but you can't tell which older mushrooms may have been towering over it while it was smaller.
It's easy to confirm, by wetting a finger and rubbing at it. In any event, it does't look remotely blue, and does at least look to be the color one would expect from spore deposit in Psathyrella or Hypholoma.
If they're rather fragile, I'll consider Psathyrella. I don't often know jet li to be too far off base when making such a confident statement.
