Habitat: Found growing on a rotten piece of wood in southern new jersey. Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Gills: White in younger ones dirty white on older white a distinct green tint around the outter bottom edge which i think is called the margin. Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Stem: Stem is short, only 3-4". Has a distinct fuzzy white fluff at base of stem. . Stem is dark, brown and very skinny. Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
Cap: Cap is small, up to 1" high and has a pronouced nipple. Has distinct lines running from top of cap to margin. Light brown or tan. Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: Spore print is black to deep purple. Very important!
Bruising: No bruising. Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Lol...this is my last hope for the season. I have found EVERYTHING BUT an active shroom. Lots of poisonous and edible mushrooms though. I wanted to say hello to everyone and thank for the help thus far...

Nobody can tell you without pics, but they certainly would be pretty far from home wouldn't they? A quick google search puts them in the PNW and Canada...

Wells guys and gals it figures... ON THE DAY i am leaving to go to Florida i ffind two Pluteous Salicinus. I am in new jersey and it was bbq'dy accident that i found them. Was looking on some rotten tree stumps for gymnopilus and lo and behold find this nondescript mushroom growing off a log. There was only one so i left it. I found another not far away so i picked them both out of curiosity. They both have a pink spore print and i was reading on here that someone else found them. Probably not enough to get a proper dose but i am excited. I had to catch the plane early this morning so i couldn't properly drie them. Anyone on here have experience with P. Salicinus ? Thanks and i will keep you guys posted on my Florida finds....

You don't mention any evidence that they're P. salicinus and not P. cervinus or something else. Is there bruising? How are the gills attached?
